Panel 5

tour of the neighbourhood panel 5 - 11

As you walk up Shaw Street and look back from Queen, you see that open space setbacks, along with the large public park at the corner of Queen and Shaw, have protected mature trees on the property and have created a linear green space. The wall along Shaw Street has generated much public discussion, with some advocating for its preservation, and others for its removal. An open ideas competition will be held in order to determine the best option for the wall along Shaw, which will balance the importance of this historic artifact with the need to create "eyes in the park" to enhance safety, provide access points to the property and create a wonderful streetscape on this important frontage tto the urban village.
