Winners of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health's Wall Competition to be Announced

TORONTO, May 2, 2003 -- The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) will announce the winners of their Open Ideas Competition at a reception to be held on Monday May 5th, 2003. Over 120 entries have been received for the contest. The contest invited submissions and offered prizes for the most innovative ideas about how the historic wall along Shaw Street at the eastern edge of CAMH's 1001 Queen Street West property could be incorporated into CAMH's proposed redevelopment of the property.

Dr. Paul Garfinkel, CAMH's President and CEO, and Councillor Joe Pantalone will announce the winners. All of the competition entries will be on display.

Media are invited to attend the reception.

LOCATION: Trinity Community Recreation Centre, Upper Level, 155 Crawford Street (west of Bathurst St., north of Queen St.)

DATE: Monday, May 5, 2003

TIME: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The entries will also be on display for the public at an Open House to be held on Wednesday May 7, 2003 at Trinity Community Recreation Centre, 155 Crawford Street, Upper Level, from 11 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm. For more information about the events, the public can call 416-535-8501 ext. 1650.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is a Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization Collaborating Centre and a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto.
