Neuropsychiatry
Program
Provides compassionate client-centred care for clients/patients with neuropsychiatric
disorders between the ages of 18 and 65. Clients have marked impairments in learning,
memory, judgment and other essential cognitive processes with coexisting behavioural
symptoms. Some clients may have physical impairments and/or substance abuse issues.
Working together with clients, families and community partners, the clinical team
places emphasis on client support, skill development and quality of life enrichment.
Many initiatives and services of this program aim to increase the continuum of clinical
and support services to optimize the transition and community integration of individuals
with persistent mental illness and neurological impairment.
The Geriatric Program is in the process of integrating with the Neuropsychiatry
Prograam. This integration is anticipated to be completed by September 1, 2003.
