Planned Giving:
Helping to Ensure a Better Future

Planned gifts -- which include bequests through your will, gifts of securities, life insurance and charitable annuities -- offer many important benefits to you, the donor. Benefits vary according to the nature of the gift, but can include tax advantages -- now and to your estate -- and the ability to tailor your gift to your financial needs.

When you make a planned gift, you help ensure that we will always be able to fulfil our mandate of supporting the Centre's activities to provide for the most urgent needs of our clients, and that we will always be there when they need us. You allow the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation to plan accurately and confidently for the future.

Most importantly, you are secure in the knowledge that your gift will continue to benefit those facing mental illness and addiction long into the future.

The Board of Directors of the Foundation recommends the following bequest language for a will:

Gifts of Fixed Sum:

To pay to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation the sum of (amount) to be used for such purposes for the benefit of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as the Board of Directors of the Foundation may see fit.

OR

To pay to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation the sum of (amount) to be used for (your text here).

If, in the opinion of the Board of Directors of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation (referred to as the Board), it should become impossible, inadvisable or impracticable to apply the said fund for the said purposes, or if the Board is of the opinion that part of the said fund is not required for such purposes, the Board shall use the said fund or such part thereof in such manner as in its discretion may seem to the best advantage of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health for other purposes consonant with the spirit and intention of this gift.

Residual Gifts:

To pay or transfer to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation the whole of the residue of my estate to be used for the benefit of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as the Board of Directors of the Foundation may see fit.
