Online Learning
Ongoing learning and skills development by service providers ensures
that clients have access to the most effective care available. Education
and Publishing Services at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
is devoted to facilitating this by providing greater access to courses
and expanding learning opportunities for our learners through the appropriate
integration of technology.
Admission, Discharge and Assessment
Tool (ADAT) Training is an online course
that will help you to learn to use Ontario's standardized package of assessment
tools for clients with substance use problems and to link the assessment
results to the Admission and Discharge Criteria.The purpose of the course
is to train and education individuals to be effective in using the assessment
tools and linking them to the Admission and Discharge Criteria. More...

This one- day workshop will provide healthcare professionals and family
members with the information needed to recognize the first signs and
symptoms of Dementia, Depression, and Anxiety in the elderly and give
an overview of the treatments available, discuss how to cope with caregiver
stress, and learn practical and creative approaches to behavioural challenges.
First Nations Youth
Suicide Prevention
Thursday June 5, 2003
This one- day course will improve participants' knowledge and competency
to work with First Nations youth who have depression. Participants will
examine attitudes favourable to intervention and increase their knowledge
about depression and the problem of First Nations youth suicide.
Understanding and Treating
the Client with Borderline Personality Disorder who Self-Injures
Wednesday June 4 and Thursday June 5, 2003
This two-day workshop will provide participants with a better understanding
of BPD with an emphasis on the meaning and role of self-injury. Participants
will receive training in facilitating a SAFE group as well as a copy
of the SAFE Manual.
