Methadone Maintenance Guidelines PDF only / 1.2 MB

The Methadone Maintenance Guidelines are intended to reflect the general standard of practice in Ontario for prescribing methadone in the maintenance treatment of opioid dependence. At this time in Canada, methadone remains the only opioid approved for long-term (greater than 180 days) treatment of opioid dependence. These guidelines are approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario for members of the College, and have been developed with CAMH and the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Methadone maintenance treatment is regulated by each province and treatment guidelines may vary between provinces.
